New York City’s Campaign Finance Board (NYCCFB), on a mission to drive voter turnout for local elections, invested in a massive mural campaign in 2024. Once they saw the results, they did the same thing again in 2025.
2024: Domination
Their first Colossal campaign covered the city in paint to engage and motivate their audience. Bold graphics leant themselves to a creative that popped off the wall while cheeky personality quizzes and attention-grabbing copy got people interested. They then used the walls as colorful content to excite their following on social media. These efforts led to over 4,000 new voters at the polls.
2025: Activation
For the next year’s election cycle, NYCCFB created a memorable experiential activation to promote education and engagement. An ice cream analogy was used to explain ranked-choice ballots, with a truck parked in front of the mural delivering sweet treats to local voters.
