Ramp’s boundary-breaking, breath-taking, borderless creative reimagined what is possible with fintech (and with a Colossal campaign). The fintech group destroyed the classic compromise of High Returns OR High Liquidity by taking a wrecking ball to the question, breaking the “OR” to reveal an ampersand. 

Well, not really, but with some clever paint and props we gave that impression (and delivered millions more online). Here’s how we executed this multi-phase masterpiece:

 

Phase 1

We paint the question, High returns OR High liquidity, on a busy Manhattan mural space above a parking lot.

 

Phase 2

Revisiting the wall, we use the trompe l’oeil technique to make the wall appear broken with an ampersand behind the bricks. Meanwhile, our partners in props deliver a lime green wrecking ball to the scene, complete with a smashed car beneath it. A neighboring vinyl sign is changed to explain “Ramp Treasury has landed.”

 

The third and final step in this process was taking the campaign online for viral success. From their street-interview video, the client reported:
