Start Today: Kaiser’s room

Kaiser’s Room mural in Williamsburg, Brooklyn hand-painted by Colossal Media. The mural is a painted stage with red curtains featuring the Kaiser's Room mural and a QR code.

At the core of Kaiser’s Room is the belief that every person, regardless of ability or diagnosis, deserves space to connect, create, and grow through the arts. Through accessible theatre and dance programming, the organization has reimagined what inclusion looks like, and more importantly, what it feels like.

In fall 2025, Kaiser’s Room unveiled a new mural celebrating a decade of service and the transformative power of creative connection. Designed as a tribute to inclusive expression, the mural was created in collaboration with Colossal to spark joy, foster belonging, and uplift individuals on the Autism spectrum and with other developmental delays.

The collaboration began the way many meaningful things do: through a friend who believed deeply in Kaiser’s Room’s mission—and was inspired enough to join the nonprofit’s board. That shared sense of purpose soon turned into action, with Colossal and Kaiser’s Room coming together to raise a painted beacon of joy in the community by way of Colossal’s CSR program: Start Today.

2025 marked our tenth year in existence. There have been ups and downs, yet never has there been a moment of doubt or regret. The work that we do is, and has always been, important, impactful, and life-changing. Commemorating it in this way, with a mural in Williamsburg from the Start Today program at Colossal Media is the ultimate honor for all of the hard work and beautiful moments. Our gratitude is insurmountable, and the words ‘thank you’ will never be enough.

With every Start Today project collaboration, Colossal’s team conducts an educational exchange with our nonprofit partners, and our time with Kaiser’s Room was one of the most positively received experiences to date. Enthusiasm for the Kaiser’s Room mission was unmatched, largely thanks to the infectious energy of the nonprofit’s leadership. So much so that Colossal employees were inspired to reach out about ways to volunteer outside of our Start Today collaboration.

Colossal founded Start Today to champion its team’s creativity and craft with the goal of amplifying the communities, artists, and causes we care about.

At Colossal, we believe murals can tell stories—and this one speaks volumes about connection, creativity, and community. Partnering with Kaiser’s Room to bring this mural to life was a reminder that art isn’t just seen, it’s felt and experienced. Especially when it fosters togetherness and connection.
